How to set a stunning holiday table

It is the best thing about my job to set the table for friends and family. A well-dressed table sets the tone for a gathering. The holiday season is the best time to do this, so I’m sharing my top tips for developing a beautiful holiday table.

HOLIDAY TABLE TABLE CHECKLIST

  1. START WITH A NEUTRAL TABLE COLLECT OR RUNNER
  2. USE MANY ELEMENTS TO CREATE A LOW GARLAND
  3. LAYER PLACE SETTINGS IN MANY COLORS
  4. ADD A INTERESTING GLASS OR CUP TO YOUR SET
  5. MATCH METALS WITH CANDLES TO GET A SPECIAL GLOW

To add color to my table settings, I always use a neutral tablecloth or runner as my base. I used a patterned tablecloth, folded it half lengthwise, and made a table runner.

Two lengths of faux Norfolk pin garland were added to the middle of the table as the next layer. Then, I placed mini pinecone and frosted pine garland on top of the Norfolk garland.

The centerpiece was completed by placing tall copper candlesticks along the length of each table. I also added mercury glass votives throughout. This gave the table a warm glow, allowing guests to see beyond it.

I used a faux pine placemat to add some green to the setting. The charger was finished with bright copper, and the gray stoneware plates were added. The look was completed with rose gold flatware and a casual, white linen napkin.

For an even more exquisite touch, I used copper mugs for water glasses. For a special occasion, why not use the seldom-used dishware??

It was so easy to create a beautiful holiday table. This will help you create a holiday table your guests will love.

I hope you enjoy the warmth and camaraderie of your family and friends as you gather together over the holidays, no matter where you are located!
